Test Drive: Eve of Destruction is a video game that was developed by Monster Games in 2004 and Test Drive: Eve of Destruction - PlayStation Games Peakpublished by Atari. The game was published as Driven to Destruction in Europe.
The game is based on the United States sport of demolition derbies, as the game is set in America and features old American vehicles. Thus, it is on a similar platform to the Demolition Racer: No Exit and Destruction Derby games.
The game features 25 events, including the school bus race, battle, flagpole race, gauntlet, trailer race, and figure 8 races. Some of the events are fictional.
EoD takes place in various small towns throughout the country. Noted locations include California and Minnesota (the racing locations Anoka and Mankato are both in Minnesota).
The game features more than 30 vehicles such as school buses, ambulances, and muscle cars. The game features many real vehicles, but to avoid license fees the cars do not bear their real names. The car known as the Top on the game is actually a Chevrolet Chevette. The Moth is an AMC Gremlin, the Arrow is a Ford Thunderbird, the Algar is an AMC Pacer, the Empire is a Chevy Bel Air, the Comit is a Chevy Camaro the Blitz is a Chevrolet Vega Wagon, and the Outlaw is actually a Ford Ranchero.
